The Province of Loirdae
Shae Th'Ed, the Ever Changing
Player Character of Matthew
In his younger years, stout hobbit Shae aspired to join the monks of The Isles of Ki. Leaving home at a young age, he watched and praised their zen like fighting, their stealth, and their unarmored defense. Yet, through trial and much error, he quickly learned his halfling stature did not make a suitable monk. So, he abandoned his dream and the monastery in disgrace, taking to the forest and living as an outlander. Though he did not master the way of the Ki, he did perfect the art of stealth and good nature, taking on various jobs as a scout for adventuring parties. Now, Shae is off on his own adventure in Loirdae, investing his skills into magic to perfect his very specific skill set.
Shae is a Rogue, meaning he has expertise in the shadows. His small stature allows him to easily navigate large crowds, and he often goes unnoticed by larger foes. This is very beneficial to his signature Sneak Attack, which allows him to deal an extra 2d6 damage to one creature on which he has advantage. Shae also knows the secret language of the thieves, Thieves Cant. A language written in subtle markings, Thieve’s Cant allows Shae to see any marks left behind by former thieves, often leading to clues about the location (such as whether an area is dangerous or the territory of a thieves’ guild, whether loot is nearby, or whether the people in an area are easy marks or will provide a safe house for thieves on the run.)
Shae is very quick on his feet, and can use his bonus action to dash, disengage, or hide (actions that normally require a full action), and has advantage on any checks involving being frightened. Shae also has darkvision. He is also very lucky due to his halfling blood, and can re-roll all 1’s on any attack roll, saving throw, or ability check. However, he has to take the second roll…
Pablo has recently shown Shae the art of Illusion magic, and has pushed Shae into becoming an Arcane Trickster, a specific branch of Rogue that specializes in both stealth and magic. Shae now has access to Spellcasting, and can use the cantrip Mage Hand to perform tasks, such as unlocking doors or pickpocketing. In Geralf’s tower, Shae discovered a magical blade that he has become quite fond of, and he will become hostile should anyone try and take the blade away.
